An 'Artastic' Opportunity
You won’t want to miss the upcoming Western Art Week in Great Falls Montana, March 18-22, 2020. This is the nation’s largest congregation of Western Artists and enthusiasts coming together to exhibit and experience the best the Western Art World has to offer.
The city is stuffed to the ‘brim of their 10 gallon hat’ with 15 art shows at 15 different locations! Exhibits include offerings from over 800 artists. Then to compound the Fun and Art factor, there will be interactive events, educational symposiums, quick draw competitions, auctions, live music and social gatherings. To jump start the Western Fun, the Son’s of the Pioneers, originally founded by Roy Rogers, will be performing the evening of the 18th.
Then if you need a break from all the art shows, you can take in the Western Collectibles and Antique Show. It is difficult to imagine that one can experience all this within a 5 day event. Of course you can always arrive a day early and get your green on to enjoy the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and offering of green cheer or corned beef and cabbage throughout the city!
Many of the Western Art exhibits are displayed in hotel rooms across the city which of course limits room availability for the visiting art enthusiasts. The City also becomes quite hectic during this event. Luckily there is a nearby, tranquil remedy for those needing a place to stay: Tiger Butte Manor!
During your drive to the manor, you will also experience the ‘heart’ of Western Art Week as you pass by local ranches and witness scenery that inspired many of the artists. The Manor is only 29 miles/40 minutes from Great Falls. As many of the exhibits do not open until 10 am, you can enjoy a relaxing morning and nourish yourself with a scrumptious breakfast before diving back into the Western Art World. Of note, several of the pieces of artwork on display at the Manor were purchased from previous Art Week exhibitions.
